刚刚看第八章评论的时候，看到了读者发出这个疑问；本来想在本章说里解释的，结果回复一直被吞。
大概是“chick”这个单词触发了点娘的关键词吞楼？

jk罗琳一处用的是“a chickens egg”，一处用的是“a chicken egg”，chicken有鸡、鸡肉、胆小鬼的意思，但绝对没有公鸡的意思；所以无论怎么翻译，这两处都不能翻译成“公鸡蛋”。
真要是公鸡蛋，原著中给的肯定是cocks egg，或者roosters egg；虽然我不清楚英文中是否存在这两个词组。
而且作为一名专业人士，我可以明确的说，并没有公**蛋这种东西你们平常吃的“公鸡蛋”，其实是公鸡的肾、或者说鸡腰子。
人教版密室强行翻译成“公鸡蛋”，又是一个sir、pettigrew式的翻译错误。
神奇动物在哪里里翻译成“母鸡蛋”，才是正确的翻译。
